Wavy Bradley, co-owner and chef of Chicago restaurant Chemistry and a figure involved in several local businesses including Stussys, Lighthouse, Soul Shack, and Mikkeys, was killed in a mass shooting late Thursday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
Police say the shooting happened early Friday morning when gunmen approached a group of people standing outside and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Seven people were shot in total, with two fatalities confirmed.
A 23-year-old woman who was shot in the head remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Several others were injured, including a 54-year-old man, a 32-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman, and a 21-year-old man. Authorities said all four were transported to nearby hospitals with multiple gunshot wounds and are listed in fair to good condition.
No arrests have been made, and police say no one is currently in custody as the investigation continues.
