Things are looking all the way lucky for Chicago-bred rapper Lucki. The artist has been on fire throughout the years, and he’s been getting the acknowledgment he deserves. On June 3, news broke that Lucki is now signed to Interscope and he is all smiles. This is very big news, considering the Drugs R Bad artist has been on his grind for the past 15 years.
From looking at Lucki’s Instagram and X account, it is clear the artist is confident that he is on his way to the next level. Via his IG Story, he expressed while sitting in a car, “We are about to go to the moon.” He then laughed and shouted, “The help is on the way,” before going into a list of thank-yous to those who have supported him.
Interscope, which is the label home of many greats such as Juice WRLD, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and more, have proven capable of turning hitmakers into stars. From watching Lucki’s career unfold throughout the years, it has always seemed like he had a major fan base and sold-out shows but never really received that mainstream attention. Could Interscope be the missing piece? We have seen time and time again throughout the years that a major label is all a Chicago artist needs to really strike gold.
Now that Lucki is signed to Interscope, that leaves a lot of people wondering what happened to the Empire deal. According to Complex Magazine, in October 2025, Empire Distribution sued rapper Lucki (LC Camel Jr.) for breach of contract in San Francisco Superior Court, alleging he violated his exclusive distribution agreement by releasing the single “Not So Virgo of You” through rival platform UnitedMasters. Empire also alleged that they paid Lucki nearly $10 million in advances. The story came as a big shock, but Lucki seemed unfazed and unbothered based on his social media posts afterward. After the Interscope announcement, he posted a photo of a man on his Instagram Story with the text “best lawyer ever” that many took as a sign that the legal issues surrounding the Empire situation had been resolved behind the scenes.
Congratulations to Lucki on his new journey. This feels like a big win for the city of Chicago as well. Many artists from the city are like roses growing from concrete. The journey isn’t perfect, but that’s what makes the music so special. Lucki is one of those artists who can really raise the bar in music and deliver a sound that goes beyond what many could imagine.
