TrapGrails is continuing to make its mark on Chicago’s fashion and sneaker scene through its Beverly storefront at 10034 S. Western Ave., a space that has quickly become a destination for collectors and streetwear enthusiasts.
Founded online in 2020 by entrepreneur Patrick Jefferson, TrapGrails built its reputation around sourcing and selling “grails”—a term used in sneaker culture to describe highly sought-after, often hard-to-find footwear and apparel. What began as a digital-based operation has evolved into a physical retail experience rooted in Chicago’s South Side.

Jefferson grew his inventory and deepened his knowledge of the market by studying trends, linking up with fellow vendors, and thoughtfully curating his product selection while expanding his professional network. He regularly traveled to sneaker events, family gatherings, and conventions nationwide, taking advantage of every opportunity to gain insight, build relationships, and elevate his standing in the industry.

Jefferson officially marked the store’s arrival earlier this year with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 18, celebrating a major milestone for the brand’s growth from online resale platform to brick-and-mortar business. Many of his supporters came out for the grand opening. The Beverly shop now serves as a hub for customers looking for exclusive sneakers, men’s apparel, and curated fashion pieces that are often difficult to find through traditional retail channels.
The storefront reflects the broader expansion of sneaker culture, where demand for limited releases and rare items continues to drive a strong resale and collector market. For TrapGrails, the physical location allows customers to engage with inventory in person while building a stronger connection to the brand and community.
The shop has also contributed to local retail activity along Western Avenue, adding another small business presence to the corridor and drawing sneaker enthusiasts from across the city.
TrapGrails continues to operate as both a retail space and a cultural outlet for sneaker collectors, maintaining its focus on rare finds and exclusive pieces that define its identity in the streetwear space.
