MAN FOUND SHOT TO DEATH INSIDE BURNING HOME IN CHICAGO

Friday evening, Chicago police and the Chicago Fire Department arrived at a burning house on South Kirkland Avenue between Cermak Road and Ogden Avenue around 9 p.m.

Firefighters found a 68-year-old man inside the home. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office, the man’s cause of death was from a gunshot wound to the neck and chest area. Also, the victim’s arms and one of his legs were severed.

Neighbors said the 68-year-old man rented the home and lived there with his two sons. The family was new to the neighborhood, having lived there for the past two years.

As the investigation continues, it is unknown how the fire started, and no other injuries have been reported.
