Northwestern High School after admitting he spent thousands out of pocket to support his players.

Bridgewater revealed he paid around $700 a week for Uber rides, $2,200 for meals, and $1,300 for recovery services, plus $14,000 for a preseason camp. While his intentions were to help, these payments violated Florida high school athletic rules banning “impermissible benefits.”

Bridgewater took to Facebook about the situation. “Damn people done caused all this confusion. Got a phone call tonight and it’s no real investigation going on.. I told you I have to be an employee to be investigated. Now the paperwork thing still stands but there was no investigation… We SELF-REPORTED,” Bridgewater wrote.

Though he self-reported the expenses, the school still suspended him. Bridgewater says he plans to continue supporting the team, even if it means coaching from the stands.
