Chicago hip hop duo Mother Nature have announced Nature’s World EP for June 10 via Closed Sessions. Their first project to come after the highly acclaimed SZNZ mixtape, the EP is a collaboration between the duo and Renzell of former Chicago production outfit, THEMpeople, and features theMIND and Mother Wata. A true representation of the new and old wave of Chicago music, listen to the first single “Don’t Worry” – a lush bed of soulful synths, scattered with watery 808’s, bright keys, and the duo’s incisive word play and effortless flow. “Don’t Worry” is an anthem to keep our bodies moving and our minds free, knowing that we are all divinely protected and provided for by Nature herself. The duo notes of the EP:Nature’s World is a journey into the imagination of Mother Nature, where we give precedence to the natural. The project is a calling to come back to nature.
“Don’t Worry” comes following the group’s busy 2021, in which they released joint mixtape SZNZ’s with fellow Closed Sessions member BoatHouse, garnering attention from NPR, Complex, Consequence of Sound, Uproxx, Okayplayer, Paste, and more. Mother Nature, known as Klevah and TRUTH, met in 2011 at the University of Illinois and have contributed to the Chicago music scene with a foundation in defiance, self-discovery, and community. The duo actively run their nonprofit, Mother Nature, Inc. which houses The Miseducation of HipHop, a music-based curriculum and wellness practice for all ages focused on self acceptance, healing traumas, and dream building.. The group looks to build off the success of their previous Closed Session releases. Stay tuned for further roll out from Mother Nature in preparation of Nature’s World.
