HALLE BERRY REVEALS HER DOCTOR MISTOOK MENOPAUSE SYMPTOMS FOR HERPES

It’s been a lot of cases where doctors have mistakenly diagnosed women with one thing when they really had something else. Halle Berry has revealed that her symptoms of perimenopause were initially mistaken as the “worst case” of herpes her doctor had ever seen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, while on a women’s health panel with First Lady Jill Biden, Halle Berry began to explain what caused her to become a women’s health advocate, specifically for women experiencing menopause for the first time. Halle says when she first got with her man, Van Hunt, they were having sex frequently. Then one day, she started experiencing discomfort after having sex, so she decided to take a trip to the doctor.

She explained her symptoms to the doctor which lead him to believe her pain was caused by “one of the worst cases of herpes he’s ever seen”. After hearing the news in disbelief, her and her partner went to get tested.

Their test came back negative and the doctor realized that he made a huge, and incorrect, assumption about her symptoms. Turns out, Halle was in the beginning stages of perimenopause.

“I realized after the fact that is a symptom of perimenopause” due to dryness. She continued, “My doctor had no knowledge and didn’t prepare me, that’s when I knew, ‘Oh my gosh, l’ve got to use my platform, I have to use all of who I am and I have to start making a change and a difference for other women.'”
