HOUSE PASSES FOREIGN AID BILL, SENDING $95 BILLION TO HELP UKRAINE, TAIWAN & ISRAEL

The United States House of Representatives has approved a legislative package worth $95 billion which will provide security assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The bill will now be sent to the Senate for approval in the coming week. President Joe Biden has already pledged to sign the bill as soon as it reaches his desk.

The bills provide $60.84 billion to address the conflict in Ukraine, including $23 billion to replenish U.S. weapons, stocks, and facilities; $26 billion for Israel, including $9.1 billion for humanitarian aid for Gaza; and $8.12 billion for the Indo-Pacific region, including Taiwan. Expressing gratitude, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that democracy and freedom will always have global significance and will never fail as long as America helps to protect them.

However, in Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the package would make the United States richer, further ruin Ukraine, and result in the deaths of even more Ukrainians.
