The number twenty-four is not just a year for the what’s the word team; it’s symbolic. Two-four is the Kobe year, the mamba mentality, the mindset to work hard to be the best, and that’s exactly what this list represents. This artists-to-watch class is one of allegiance, strife to set yourself apart from others in your genre, consistency, and the utmost passion for the music you create.
Every year in our city, there’s a debate about what we lack musically. This stems from a clout-over talent perspective. When we solely search for followers, jewelry, body, hair, co-signs, etc., it’s easy to lose sight of one main factor- the actual talent. Not to mention the work ethic to make transcending art. There’s a phrase that says, “Music is only 10% of what makes a good artist.” this is not to say we beg to differ, but we will say that 10% is not “10 percent-ing” as of late. So the next time you give an ear or opportunity to an upcoming artist from Chicago, keep that in mind.
PLEASE REVIEW PRIOR LISTS • ARTISTS CAN ONLY MAKE IT ONCE

To help you out we provided a list of the underdogs, the creatives who are more often overlooked than recognized for their viscidity. This list is for the ones who DON’T get mad; they get to work. They DON’T give up; they get better. With or without the city’s support, their diligence and aspirations remain limitless.
We present the mamba year, your 2024 artists to watch list:
