Authorities in Canada are investigating the death of a teenage Walmart employee, who was discovered inside a store’s walk-in bakery oven.
The 19-year-old worker was found around 9:30 p.m. Saturday at a Walmart in Halifax, Nova Scotia, according to local police, who said Occupational Health and Safety was called in to help in the “sudden death” investigation.
According to Global News, the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
“The woman, who was an employee of the store, was located in a large walk-in oven belonging to the store’s bakery department,” police said in a news release on Tuesday afternoon.
As of today, the Walmart store is closed until further notice amid the investigation.
Walmart is offering employees on-site support, including grief counseling, as well as access to virtual care.
