Police say 45-year-old Antwan Washington was inside a residence in the 5700 block of South May Street around 5 a.m. when a gray sedan pulled up outside. Multiple gunmen reportedly exited the vehicle and opened fire into the home, striking Washington in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say several shell casings were found outside the residence, and the suspects fled northbound after the shooting. At this time, no arrests have been made, and detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly attack.

Family members described Washington as a devoted father, and the shooting has left loved ones and neighbors shaken as police search for answers. The investigation remains ongoing.
