A train operator in Chicago had alcohol in their system when a crash occurred in 2023.a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train crash nearly a year ago that injured dozens of people and caused millions of dollars in damages.
Blood alcohol tests indicate that the CTA train operator responsible for the crash was operating under the influence, according to reports from federal regulators obtained by the ABC 7 Chicago.

The rules for CTA workers state that they are not allowed to drink alcohol or use illegal drugs while on the job or come to work under the influence of these substances.
That final investigation report could take anywhere from 12 to 24 months after the accident took place to be completed.
