CHICAGO MAN DISCOVERS LONG LOST MOTHER RUNS HIS FAVORITE BAKERY

A Chicago man who went searching for answers about his family history found a sweet surprise when he finally connected with his long lost birth morher for the first time.

Even though it was just a couple of years ago that Chicago residents Lenore Lindsey and Vamarr Hunter found out that they were mother and son, it’s still touching hearts of those around them.

Vamarr Hunter, 50, from South Shore, discovered at the age of 35 that he was adopted and became curious about meeting his birth mother. He decided to take a genetic test, and the surprising results revealed that his mother, Lenore Lindsay, lived in the same South Side Chicago neighborhood as he did. To his astonishment, she was also the owner of a local bakery called Give Me Some Sugah, which Hunter frequently visited, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

Lindsey believes their reunion was guided by faith. At the time, she was facing a health crisis, which led Hunter, who had no baking experience, to step in and help run the bakery. “It’s been a great experience,” Hunter said. “It further strengthens my faith.”

Hunter says he hopes to keep the business in the family, passing it on to one of his four children when he eventually retires. Although they won’t be able to get back any of the time they lost, Hunter says he plans to enjoy the time he does have with his mother and the rest of his new-found extended family.
