TWELVE-YEAR-OLD GIRL DIES FROM SELF INFLICTED WOUND IN CHICAGO

A 12-year-old girl has lost her life after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a residence on the South Side of Chicago on Sunday evening, as reported by the police.

The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. in an apartment in South Shore, where the girl lived with her family, on the 7100 block of South Constance Avenue. The victim was shot in the abdomen and was taken in critical condition to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

According to sources from ABC7, other children were present in the apartment during the incident, but the events leading up to the gunfire are still unclear. Police found a firearm at the scene but did not reveal to whom it was registered.

No individuals are in custody, and Area One detectives are looking into the matter. The police have released no additional information regarding the shooting.
