TWO PEOPLE KILLED IN ROLLOVER CRASH ON I-57 IN CHICAGO

Northbound lanes on Interstate 57 were closed Monday afternoon due to an accident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in the southern suburbs. 

According to the Illinois State Police, a vehicle overturned on northbound I-57 near 147th Street at 1:13 p.m. The driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased individuals have been identified as 23-year-old Tony Haywood and 26-year-old Jayla Covington, both from Chicago, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

The northbound side of I-57 was blocked off near the accident site, but all lanes were reopened by 5:24 p.m. No additional information regarding the crash was immediately available.
