A woman was killed in Chicago after celebrating her birthday with family and friends on the city’s South Side.
Jamia Taylor was a 29-year-old woman and the mother of six beautiful children. On February 9, 2025, she was celebrating her birthday when she was tragically shot and killed. Jamia was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 1800 block of E. 79th Street at around 5:23 a.m. When the Chicago police arrived at the scene, she was unresponsive.

She was quickly taken to the University of Chicago Hospital, where she later died.
As of now, no one is in custody, and the Chicago Police Department’s Area Four detectives are investigating the incident.
