MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER IN CHICAGO AFTER STRIKING OFFICER WITH CAR

In a shocking incident that unfolded over the weekend, a suburban man is now facing multiple charges after allegedly striking a police officer with his vehicle. The event occurred just after midnight on Sunday in the 100 block of N. Lamon Avenue in South Austin, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Jose Ruiz-Crespin, a 22-year-old from Arlington Heights, was arrested shortly after the collision. Officers on the scene reported that he was driving recklessly and under the influence when he hit the officer, injuring them in the process.
