DEADLY FOUR-CAR ACCIDENT CAUSED BY WRONG WAY DRIVER ON EXPRESSWAY IN CHICAGO

A fatal wrong-way collision impacted traffic in the western suburbs on Sunday morning, according to the Illinois State Police. Troopers responded to the incident on the Eisenhower Expressway at Wolf Road in Hillside shortly after 4:15 a.m. The crash involved four vehicles and resulted in at least one fatality, as reported by ISP. All other drivers were taken to nearby hospitals with injuries, although the total number and severity of the injuries were not immediately known. ISP reported that all inbound lanes at Wolf Road in Hillside were closed.

Additionally, around 9:30 a.m., authorities announced that the eastbound lanes of Interstate 290 would likely remain shut for another hour or two.

The cause of the accident remains unclear at this time, and no additional details about the incident have been released yet.
