Hall of Famer Michael Jordan will join NBC as a special contributor to its NBA coverage beginning at the start of the 2025-2026 season.
NBC made the announcement Monday morning during its upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall.
“I am so excited to see the NBA back on NBC,” said Jordan in a news release. “The NBA on NBC was a meaningful part of my career, and I’m excited about being a special contributor to the project. I’m looking forward to seeing you all when the NBA on NBC launches this October.”
NBC landed an 11-year agreement with the league that begins this fall. The network didn’t share details on Jordan’s role but this will be his first time covering the NBA in any role since he retired in 2003.
Since his retirement, Jordan owned the Charlotte Hornets from 2010-2023 and became the co-founder of the NASCAR team 23XI Racing in 2020 with driver Denny Hamlin.
This will be NBC’s first time covering the NBA since 2002.
