A$AP Rocky recently opened up about a meaningful piece of advice from his late mother — and it involved Rihanna long before the world knew they’d become a couple. During a recent interview on The New York Times Popcast, the rapper shared that his mom always hoped he would end up with Rihanna, even when they were just friends.

Rocky explained that his mother would often bring Rihanna up while he was dating other people, telling him she wanted him with “RiRi.” At the time, he didn’t take it seriously and brushed it off, insisting they were only friends and that the timing wasn’t right. Still, his mom remained convinced there was something special there.
Looking back now, Rocky says he realizes she was right all along. He reflected on how timing and personal growth played a big role, admitting that neither he nor Rihanna would’ve been ready for the relationship back then. Today, he sees it as a clear case of a mother’s intuition knowing best, especially considering the life and family he now shares with Rihanna.
