Jahmal Cole, founder of “My Block, My Hood, My City is hosting the third annual “Downtown Day”. The annual event is happening on Saturday July 19th, and will be hosting 1,000 young people from both the West and South sides of Chicago.
“We’ve all heard the saying, ‘some kids in Chicago have never been downtown,’ and that’s not just a saying, it’s true,” Founder Jahmal Cole said.
Downtown Day is a powerful, free event that gives Chicago’s youth a chance to engage with their city. By combining exploration, empowerment, and opportunity, M3 is reshaping how teens from underserved neighborhoods perceive their future.
The event will start at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park at 10 a.m.
