“THE COSBY SHOW” STAR MALCOLM-JAMAL WARNER DIES FROM ACCIDENTAL DROWNING

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for playing Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, has died at the age of 54. Warner drowned on July 20, 2025, while vacationing with his family in Costa Rica. TMZ confirmed he was caught in a strong current and died from asphyxia by drowning.

Warner rose to fame in the 1980s and remained active in TV, music, and podcasting throughout his life. He won a Grammy in 2015 and recently co-hosted the Not All Hood podcast, focused on Black American experiences.

He is survived by his wife and daughter. Tributes have poured in remembering him as a beloved actor, musician, and voice for his community.
