The Bud Billikin parade in Chicago is just a day away and this year makes the 96th year that it has been around.

Each year we get something greater whether its the floats, the vibes or even the people in the parade. Either way the annual parade is something that the Southside community looks forward to seeing each year before sending the kids back to school.
At times, the community comes just for fun but majority of the times there positively that spreads throughout the parade and it gives an effect on not only the youth the the adults as well.
Within the 2025 Royal Court, we have been hearing tons of positive messages regarding the Bud Billiken parade and what each person looks forward to.
Crown Princess Jolié Gadson opens up about being true to yourself as a kid and never rush to be older, especially in her generation. “Stay true to yourself. Don’t let your younger self mess your older self up. You don’t have to rush to be older.”
