The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner officially identified the body found in a vehicle registered to the singer D4vd as Celeste Rivas, age 15. She was reported missing from Lake Elsinore, California in April 2024.

On September 8, 2025, the LAPD discovered her decomposed body inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer known as D4vd (David Anthony Burke).
Celeste’s remains were found wrapped in a bag inside the Tesla. The body was in a state of decomposition, not intact, which delayed some aspects of the forensic process. According to the medical examiner, the cause of death was deferred, meaning it had not yet been determined.

It’s unknown whether there is a legal or personal link beyond ownership of the car between Celeste Rivas and D4vd. Some reports mentioned matching tattoos, her mother’s statement about her daughter having a “boyfriend named David,” etc.. Still, authorities have not confirmed any of these terms as relevant to the investigation.
No one has been publicly charged yet. Authorities are waiting for more forensic results and other evidence.
