INSTAGRAM BRINGS REELS TO THE BIG SCREEN

Instagram is testing a new feature that brings Reels to television screens, allowing users to watch short-form videos directly on their TVs instead of their phones starting with the Fire TV.

The feature is available through a dedicated TV app, designed with a remote-friendly layout and curated categories like music, comedy, sports, and trending content. It focuses on passive viewing rather than posting or commenting, turning Reels into a more TV-like experience.

The test is currently limited to select devices in the U.S., but Meta says it will use feedback to decide whether to expand the feature to more platforms and regions.
