Chicago police have released surveillance video capturing a bold overnight theft in which thieves stole an ATM from New York Food Mart on Saturday on the city’s North Side, according to ABC News.
The video shows multiple suspects jumping out a Jeep and entering the business and targeting the ATM before forcibly removing it from the property. Investigators say the group worked quickly, suggesting the crime was planned. The suspects then fled the scene with the machine before officers arrived.
No injuries were reported, but the incident has raised concerns among local business owners about ongoing thefts targeting cash machines.
Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information related to the crime to come forward. The surveillance footage is being shared in hopes the public can help identify those responsible.
The investigation remains ongoing.
