INDIANA WOMAN CHARGED WITH DUI AFTER CRASHING INTO SHERIFF’S VEHICLE IN CHICAGO

A 26-year-old woman from Indiana was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after she rear-ended a Cook County Sheriff’s Office vehicle late Saturday night in Chicago’s South Loop. The crash happened around 10:40 p.m. near Archer and Wentworth avenues, according to Fox 32 Chicago

Responding officers say the woman, identified as Dominic Davis-Moctezuma, showed signs of impairment at the scene and agreed to a breathalyzer test, which revealed a blood alcohol content above the Illinois legal limit.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and both the sheriff’s personnel and the driver walked away from the crash. Davis-Moctezuma was arrested, charged with DUI, and later released from custody as the case moves forward in court.

Impaired driving remains a serious public safety issue in Chicago and across the region, with law enforcement continuing efforts to reduce alcohol-related crashes and hold offenders accountable.
