FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR PLANS TO UNRETIRE AFTER MIKE TYSON FIGHT

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is coming out of retirement just days before his 49th birthday. The boxing legend will return to professional competition after his spring 2026 exhibition bout with Mike Tyson and has signed an exclusive promotional deal with CSI Sports/Fight Sports.

Just days before his 49th birthday, Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced he will come out of retirement and return to professional boxing.

The comeback will begin after his scheduled spring 2026 exhibition fight with Mike Tyson. The announcement has already sparked major buzz across the boxing world. Fans are now waiting to see who Mayweather will face in his first official fight back.

Mayweather has also signed an exclusive promotional agreement with CSI Sports/Fight Sports for the next phase of his career.

The deal makes the company his official promoter moving forward. In a statement to ESPN, Mayweather said he still believes he can break more records in boxing.

He added that no other fighter can match his ability to draw massive crowds, global TV audiences, and record-breaking revenue.

“From my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight, no one will generate bigger gates or more money than my events,” Mayweather said. He also confirmed he plans to continue working with CSI Sports/Fight Sports as his global media partner. Mayweather made it clear that his goal is to remain the biggest attraction in the sport. He believes his return will once again put boxing in the global spotlight.

Mayweather originally retired at age 40 after knocking out Conor McGregor in August 2017. That win sealed his perfect 50-0 record, including 27 victories by stoppage. Since then, he has competed in several exhibition bouts against Logan Paul, Mikuru Asakura, and John Gotti III. Last September, it was announced that he would face Mike Tyson in an exhibition match in spring 2026.
