SECURITY GUARD DIES AFTER BEING PUSHED DOWN STAIRS AT CHICAGO RESTAURANT

A security guard is dead after being pushed down a staircase during an altercation inside a popular Chicago restaurant early Monday morning, according to WGN News.

Police say the incident happened around 1:20 a.m. in the 100 block of West Hubbard Street at the River North restaurant Hubbard Inn. Authorities say a 32-year-old man was involved in an argument with a group of people when the situation escalated.

During the confrontation, a 35-year-old security guard attempted to step in and break up the fight. Police say the suspect then allegedly pushed the security guard down a staircase, causing him to suffer serious injuries.

The victim was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The 32-year-old suspect was taken into custody at the scene, and charges were pending as police continue investigating the incident.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name as detectives work to determine exactly what led up to the deadly push.

The case remains under investigation.
