An early morning break-in targeted gaming machines at Las Picosas, leaving damage inside the popular spot in Blue Island.

According to reports and surveillance footage shared online, the incident happened around 4 a.m. when an individual forced entry into the business and went straight for the gaming machines. Video from inside the restaurant appears to show the suspect moving quickly through the area and striking the machines, likely attempting to access cash stored inside.

Gaming machines are often targeted in overnight burglaries due to the money they contain, and incidents like this have been reported across several suburban areas in recent months.

Despite the break-in, the business announced it plans to remain open during regular hours, including its scheduled Miche Mondays, showing resilience following the damage. It’s unclear at this time how much money was taken or the total cost of damages.
