8-YEAR-OLD GIRL AMONG THREE PEOPLE SHOT ON CHICAGO’S SOUTH SIDE

An 8-year-old girl was among three people shot Wednesday on Chicago’s South Side, according to WGN News. The shooting happened near 35th Street and King Drive, where gunfire shattered the glass of a nearby building, leaving visible damage at the scene.

Authorities say the victims were struck after a gunman in a dark-colored SUV opened fire in the area. The young girl was transported to a local hospital along with two other victims. Their conditions have not yet been fully detailed, but the incident has left residents shaken as investigators work to piece together what led to the shooting.

Police secured the scene as evidence markers were placed around the area, and shattered glass remained scattered across the ground near the entrance of the building that was hit by gunfire. Detectives are continuing to search for the suspect vehicle and any possible surveillance footage that could help identify those responsible.
