“Since we first started this business we overcame hella adversity and came out on top every time.”
Chicago small business owner @allaboutakiraa says she woke up to every entrepreneur’s nightmare after thieves broke into her beauty supply store and stole thousands of dollars worth of inventory in just moments. According to her statement, the break in happened around 3:36 a.m. when four men entered the business and removed more than 20 bundles of raw hair along with over 40 bundles of virgin hair. She estimated the stolen inventory at roughly $7,000. Even more shocking, she said the entire incident was over in less than a minute and a half.
The timing of the robbery has made the situation even more upsetting. The owner had just restocked the store the day before and proudly shared the update on her Instagram story. Hours later, the newly stocked products were gone. For many small business owners, replacing inventory is not easy. It often requires large upfront costs, long hours, and careful planning just to keep shelves full and customers satisfied.
She also believes the suspects may have had inside knowledge of the location. In her statement, she said the men went directly to her specific unit inside a building filled with multiple rooms, skipping everything else. She added that they appeared to have the exact tools needed to get through two secured doors quickly and efficiently. Those details have led her to suspect the robbery may not have been random.
Even after such a major loss, the Chicago business owner says she is determined to recover. She shared that since starting her company, she has faced adversity before and always found a way to overcome it. Many supporters online praised her resilience and encouraged the community to support her business once it reopens.
@AllureBeautyFactory is temporarily closed while the owner restocks, regroups, and considers relocating to a more secure space. She also announced that any customer orders placed within the last two days will be cancelled and refunded. While the theft was a heavy setback, many believe this story is far from over and that the business will return stronger than before.
