FEDS SAY BIG30’S $1M RECORD DEAL MAKES HIM A FLIGHT RISK IN POOH SHIESTY CASE

Prosecutors argue Big30’s pending seven-figure record deal is a reason he should stay behind bars in the Pooh Shiesty case.

Big30 is one of nine defendants in the case. He, Pooh Shiesty, Shiesty’s father Lontrell Williams Sr., and several others are accused of holding Gucci Mane and others at gunpoint inside a Dallas studio, robbing them, and forcing Gucci to sign documents releasing Pooh Shiesty from his label deal.

Last week, a magistrate judge in Tennessee ruled that both Big30 and Williams Sr. could be released on bond — set at $100,000 for Big30 and $250,000 for Williams Sr. However, prosecutors quickly appealed that decision, and both men remain in custody while a Texas federal judge reviews the case.

In newly filed court documents, prosecutors argue that Big30 should not be released — pointing in part to a major record deal he currently has in the works.

According to testimony, Big30 is in the final stages of negotiating a seven-figure, two-album deal with Connect Music Group. While the deal could be seen as a positive opportunity, prosecutors claim it actually increases his flight risk.

They argue that if the case causes the deal to fall through, Big30 may feel he has nothing left to lose. On the other hand, if the deal goes through, he would potentially have access to significant financial resources — making it easier for him to flee. Either way, prosecutors say the deal does not support his release and instead highlights concerns about relying on bond conditions alone.

Beyond the record deal, prosecutors also outlined Big30’s alleged role in the incident. They claim he retrieved a firearm on Pooh Shiesty’s orders, filmed Gucci Mane signing the paperwork, blocked the studio door to prevent security from entering, and later destroyed the phone used to record the situation. Authorities also allege he had multiple firearms in his possession at the time of his arrest and referenced alleged ties to the Grape Street Crips.

Meanwhile, prosecutors are also pushing to keep Williams Sr. behind bars, citing his alleged involvement in the case along with a criminal history dating back decades.

As the case continues, the court will now decide whether either defendant will be granted release — or remain in custody while facing the serious charges ahead.
