A disturbing incident on Chicago’s I-55 is drawing widespread attention after dashcam video appeared to show a woman being pulled from a white Jeep SUV and left on the expressway before the vehicle drove away.

According to Illinois State Police, Troop 3 responded to the scene around 9 p.m. on June 23 for a reported battery. Video shared by Chicago Media Takeout shows the SUV stopped in a southbound lane before a man exits the passenger side, walks around the vehicle, opens the driver’s door, and pulls a woman from the vehicle.

The woman was left on the roadway as passing vehicles swerved to avoid her. Several Good Samaritans stopped their vehicles, activated their hazard lights, and helped shield her from oncoming traffic until first responders arrived.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, announced any arrests, or provided an update on the woman’s condition. The investigation remains ongoing.
