LStreetz is a rising Chicago rapper known for her bold lyricism, high-energy performances, and versatile sound. She has collaborated with artists including Shawnna and Twista, while also expanding into gaming as a 2K content creator with music featured in NBA 2K25 and NBA 2K26. With her upcoming project Blanco and new releases like “PSA” and “Cases” featuring Shawnna, LStreetz continues to establish herself as one of Chicago’s standout emerging artists.

Q: Chicago has a sound like nowhere else. How has the city shaped you as an artist?

L Streetz:
Chicago is gritty, grungy, real, and authentic. As an artist, the city shaped my sound to be hard and sharpened my skills. It also taught me that my image has to be on point. Everything I do, I want to make sure it represents Chicago the right way, sets trends, and puts the city on my back.

Q: Was there ever a moment where you walked away from music? If so, what kept you going?

L Streetz:
Absolutely. I started really young, and the industry can be rough, especially as a woman. There were a lot of challenges, from image expectations to trying to compete with artists who had bigger machines behind them while I was independent. There were moments where I felt like it wasn’t possible.

What kept me going was my friends, fans, and supporters. Social media changed the game because it allowed artists to connect directly with people without always having to go through the industry.

Q: What was the process of creating your upcoming project Blanco?

L Streetz:
I worked on this project for a whole year. I made sure I wasn’t just putting anything out. I wanted quality, skill, and real writing. I worked closely with my producer Scotty, and Shawnna helped executive produce the project. My team has really been involved in helping bring the vision together.

Q: Which visual you created hits different every time you watch it back, and why?

L Streetz:
“Counterfeit.” The energy in that video was crazy. The directing and editing really brought it together, but it was also a moment where I got to really shine and show what I can do. It’s one of my favorite records and visuals.

Q: If someone never heard your music before, what song would you play them and why?

L Streetz:
“Counterfeit.” It shows confidence, skill, and high energy. It represents where I’m at as an artist right now.

Q: What is one thing you know you still need to level up on as an artist?

L Streetz:
Stopping myself from overthinking. A lot of artists deal with that. Or wondering how people will react or if something is good enough. Sometimes you just have to stop overthinking, go for it, and do you.

Q: You’re signed — do you feel like that was the right move compared to staying independent?

L Streetz:
My deal is an independent deal with Guy Entertainment Group. I enjoy working with Shawnna because she understands the industry and understands what women go through in this business. Having someone who can give advice and help guide the direction of my career has been important.

Q: What is something the industry doesn’t tell you about being a signed artist?

L Streetz:
Being signed doesn’t mean you can slow down. You still have to work, stay consistent, keep creating, and keep hustling. The label can only do so much, so you still have to do your part as an artist.

Q: Who in Chicago do you think is slept on right now and deserves more flowers?

L Streetz:
Myself

Q: Where do you see yourself in the future?

L Streetz:
I see myself being a superstar. I’ve worked for this for a long time, and I feel like this is my moment. I’m ready to go crazy.

Q: Give us something nobody knows about you — a real exclusive.

L Streetz:
I’m actually really funny. A lot of people think I’m serious all the time, but I’m really silly and have a big personality once people get to know me.

Q: What never fails to put a smile on your face?

L Streetz:
Waking up every day. Just being blessed and knowing I’m here. There are people who wish they could do the things I’m doing, so I’m grateful for everything I have.
