The event was organized as part of the ongoing response to severe storms that impacted the Gary area, leaving some residents without power and in need of basic necessities.

FYB J Mane personally handed out bowls and served Whoop cereal with milk, giving community members an opportunity to try the cereal if they had never had it before. The giveaway provided both food and a moment of connection for residents dealing with the challenges caused by the storms.

DJ KCeaser provided the music and vibes throughout the event, helping create a positive atmosphere while residents came through for resources.

Several businesses and organizations also contributed. Jets Pizza, with Reaper, helped provide food, while Edgewater Health supplied bottles of water. Marc Cannon and Bundt Cakes provided sweet treats for residents to enjoy.

The YWCA continues to serve as a key resource for the Gary community, providing food, water and phone-charging services every day. These services have become especially important for residents who are still without electricity and need a place to access basic necessities and stay connected.

The relief effort shows the impact of local organizations, businesses, entertainers and community leaders working together to support Gary residents during a difficult time.
