Two New Orleans legends are bringing their stories, chemistry and signature sense of humor to Chicago.
Mannie Fresh and Juvenile will host a live edition of their “Still 400” podcast Tuesday, September 22, at the Laugh Factory in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. The special Chicago show will also feature comedian and actor Lil Rel Howery, who was born and raised on the city’s West Side.
The live podcast gives fans an opportunity to watch Mannie and Juvie trade stories and share their perspectives in person. Both artists played defining roles in the rise of Cash Money Records and helped create a sound that influenced generations of Southern hip-hop.
Mannie Fresh produced many of the label’s biggest records, while Juvenile delivered classics that continue to move crowds more than two decades later. Their “Still 400” show brings the longtime collaborators back together for conversations covering music, culture, their careers and everything that happened behind the scenes.
Adding Lil Rel to the Chicago stop gives the show a hometown connection. Known for his stand-up comedy and roles in projects including Get Out, The Carmichael Show and Rel, Howery will join the New Orleans duo for what organizers are promoting as an evening of comedy and unpredictable conversation.
The event is presented with Breakbeat and sponsored by Church’s Texas Chicken. Complimentary food will be provided to attendees, according to the promotional materials.
