A family is mourning the loss of their dog, which was shot by a police officer. The incident occurred on Wednesday close to the intersection of Telegraph Road and Oak Street in Davenport.
According to TMZ, on August 21st, officer Ethan Bock was called to a residence in Davenport.
He was responding to a report about four aggressive dogs attempting to leap over a fence to get to another dog. While looking into the situation in an alley, Bock encountered one of the dogs running towards him from a yard adjacent to the house.
The dog was then seen in the footage running toward the officer who pulled out his service weapon and fired two shots.
According to the dog’s owner Don Hesseltine, the police officer didn’t even show up in the right neighborhood for the initial call.
“Turns to find out they weren’t even the right neighborhood. My innocent dog shot down.”
Just one month earlier, the same police officer was accused of running over a dog in a separate incident.
