GEORGIA STUDENT CAUGHT WITH CUTWATER IN SCHOOL LUNCHBOX

Parents in Georgia are being urged to pay closer attention to what they pack in their children’s school lunches after a surprising discovery at a local school.

Police in South Fulton, Georgia, posted a public safety message after a school resource officer found a Cutwater Lemon Drop Martini, an 11% alcohol ready-to-drink beverage, inside a student’s lunch bag. The drink was reportedly packed alongside typical lunch items like snacks and juice-box-style drinks, making it easy to mistake for something non-alcoholic at first glance.

The situation quickly gained attention after the City of South Fulton Police Department shared a viral Facebook post warning parents about the incident. The post read:

“Say Twin… Before you send them babies off to school CHECK. THE. LUNCHBOX. Because why are we getting reports of juice boxes sitting next to Cutwater margaritas??”

Police used humor to deliver a serious safety message, joking that the beverage was definitely “not apple juice” or a regular juice box. While the tone was lighthearted, officials emphasized that alcohol should never be placed in a child’s school lunch.

Authorities reminded parents that many canned cocktails are designed to resemble soft drinks or juice pouches, which can create confusion during busy morning routines. Even if packed accidentally, bringing alcohol onto school property can lead to disciplinary action for students and potential legal consequences for adults.

The department said the goal of the message was awareness, not punishment, and encouraged families to take an extra moment to double-check lunch bags before children leave for school.
