On Monday, March 25 at around 10:15 a.m., Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to nine nonprofits across the Shreveport-Bossier area, continuing his pledge to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
According to KSLA News 12, the organizations receiving donations include Gingerbread House, The Fountain’s Community Development Corporation (CDC), Families Helping Families Region 7, Elle Foundation, Moms on a Mission, Best 13, MLK Community Development Corporation (CDC), the MLK Neighborhood Association, and the Northwest Louisiana Youth Golf & Education Foundation.
50 Cent said the contributions were inspired by his Netflix documentary addressing domestic violence cases involving Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“I said I would donate proceeds to domestic violence and sexual assault victims—and I stand on that. I didn’t specify where the donations would go, but I chose Shreveport,” he said.
Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor emphasized that his decision to invest in the city goes beyond business.
“This is about more than economic development—it’s about making sure people in our community are supported and made whole,” Taylor said.
Among the recipients, the Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood Association received $30,000. The organization focuses on improving education opportunities for youth and providing resources for elderly residents.
Bennie Dotie, a representative of the group, called the donation a blessing.
“It feels like divine timing. When he says all roads lead to Shreveport, this is exactly why,” Dotie said.
