Leo W3st On Giving Chicago Music a Burst of Energy.

As you can guess from the name, yes Leo W3st is from the west side of Chicago but his sound isn’t local. Performing at festivals in numerous cities including LOUD Festival in Houston, his lyricism has grown alongside his viability as an artist throughout the industry. His latest track, Outside, has been circulating the city with its infectious hook and delivers a nice summertime Chi vibe as he details his day experiencing a fresh city lifestyle before the street lights are on. With an ever-growing musical base and consistency, Leo W3st is one to look out for in the Chicago music scene. Leo W3st dropped some facts with the team about his musical upbringings.

I grew up listening to: I grew up listening to a variety of music: Crucial Conflict, Avant, Bone thugs, Usher, Biggie, Musiq
Soulchild, 50 Cent.. the list goes on.

How Did You Get Your BUZZ?: I got it from media blogs, interviews and from doing shows like So far Sounds and it helps to show face from time to time at industry events.

My style’s been compared to: Big Krit, JiD, Wale

I’m going to blow up because: The sound I’m building is fresh, original and authentic, it matches my personality so I think people would gravitate to that.

What’s your most slept-on song, and why?: I feel like Eye 2 Eye is my most slept on, it’s one of those tracks that gives you that energy boost to start the day or even during a workout and it has that festival feel to it.
