FIVE-YEAR-OLD HONORED FOR SAVING HER MOTHER’S LIFE

A 5-year-old girl from the suburbs is receiving recognition from Skokie police for her role in saving her mother’s life.

Zoey Reddick, the young girl, dialed 911 in May when her mother suddenly passed out, and she calmly communicated the situation to the dispatcher. The incident occurred just after dinner, as the mother and daughter had finished selecting a movie to watch together. That was the last memory Jessica Reddick had of that evening in May. Jessica had collapsed due to seizure-like symptoms, and the next thing she knew, paramedics were surrounding her.

Zoey, her 5-year-old daughter, had stepped in to assist her mother. Thanks to her parents’ guidance, the young student knew exactly what to convey to the dispatcher, including her mother’s condition and their home address.

Zoey was recognized by the Skokie Police Department on Wednesday evening for her bravery.
