LL Cool J recently had an interview with Channel 4’s Symeon Brown speaking on staying at the top, the late great Quincy Jones, the state of the hip-hop industry, Donald Trump and more.
LL Cool J explains that Diddy’s actions may seem connected to hip-hop, but that doesn’t mean the entire culture reflects them. He emphasizes the importance of separating individual behavior from the genre as a whole.

Some fans can separate the person from the music but with others it’s hard which Brown had mentioned when talking to LL Cool J in the interview in which the artist responded “so my question would be, what about people who aren’t in hip hop then? Do you see what I’m saying? That’s why I’m saying we have to be careful with the correlation because a lot of people get in trouble every day. A lot of people. Athletes, construction workers, mailmen, postal workers.”
