In 2023, Jeff Dillard became head coach of the Olive-Harvey Panthers. Dillard, a former assistant at Simeon Career Academy, inherited a roster with only five players.
The Olive-Harvey Community College women’s basketball team is making history this year. The Lady Panthers are undefeated with a 28-0 overall record and 10-0 in conference play.
“I don’t think anyone expected this. We didn’t put limitations on them,” said Dillard.
Despite their success, the Lady Panthers have yet to crack the NJCAA Division I Top 25 rankings.
With the playoffs fast approaching, the team only has two games left. The Lady Panthers are focused on finishing their season strong.
“Everybody thought we were nothing because of the past… but we just kept working,” said point guard Cashay Dixon.
The Lady Panthers go on the road this Saturday to face Carl Sandburg College and wrap up the season in conference play at home against Kennedy-King College on February 27.
The Lady Panthers have proven they are one of the nation’s best. Come March, this is a team nobody wants to face.
