Last night, teenagers in Chicago took over the downtown area, causing chaos and leaving one teen shot and another stabbed.
The “teen takeover” incident is not the first of its kind. Earlier this month, a tourist and her son were shot in the same area.
Videos began circulating on social media from bystanders and residents of the Streeterville neighborhood, showing large groups of teens running around.
According to Fox News, an 18-year-old man was stabbed in the back during an argument inside a store on North State Street. Additionally, a 15-year-old was shot and suffered a graze wound to the leg in Streeterville after gunfire erupted within a large crowd.
The 18-year-old is said to be in fair condition and the 15-year-old is in good condition.
Local detectives are investigating both incidents and currently, no one has been arrested.
Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd), whose ward includes parts of downtown, has called for an earlier curfew for unaccompanied children downtown.
