CHICAGO MAN KILLED IN STABBING AT NAVY PIER

On Sunday, June 29, 2025, around 5:30 p.m., a verbal dispute escalated into violence near the Beer Garden at the 600 block of East Grand Ave. A 56‑year‑old man was stabbed multiple times in the upper body by a 64‑year‑old known acquaintance, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where he later died. The suspect also suffered a chest wound, was hospitalized in serious condition, and remains in custody.

Area Three Detectives are overseeing the case. No motive has been disclosed, and no charges have been formally announced yet.

The Beer Garden was temporarily closed, and the pier remained open while investigators worked at the scene.
