LESLIE JONES SPEAKS ON MARRIAGE AND SAYS FANS SHOULDN’T GET MARRIED

Comedian Leslie Jones is going viral after making bold comments about marriage during a recent sit-down interview with Ziwe Fumudoh, where she compared marriage to “legalized slavery.”

During the conversation, Jones didn’t hold back, telling Ziwe plainly that she believes marriage can limit women and force them into traditional roles. At one point, she stated, “I think marriage is legalized slavery,” sparking immediate reactions online.

When Ziwe pressed her to explain, Jones expanded on her viewpoint, suggesting that in many relationships, women are expected to give up independence or carry unequal responsibilities within the household. The comedian also jokingly warned younger viewers, telling her fans not to rush into marriage, a statement many viewers interpreted as part humor and part serious social commentary.

The clip quickly circulated across social media, with some viewers praising Jones for speaking honestly about modern relationships, while others criticized the comparison as extreme. As with many interviews on Ziwe’s platform, the moment blended comedy, satire, and uncomfortable honesty—fueling debates across timelines about gender roles, independence, and the meaning of marriage today.
