A lawsuit is expected to be filed following a disturbing incident at a summer concert at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre, where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted during a July 22, 2025 show featuring Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul, according to CBS Chicago.
According to attorneys from the firm Wallace Miller, the teen attended the concert with a friend and the friend’s mother. At a news conference, attorney Molly Condon Wells said the case raises serious concerns about supervision, alcohol access, and security inside the venue during the large-scale event.
Attorneys allege that the friend’s mother purchased alcohol for the 16-year-old while inside the amphitheatre. They argue this contributed to an unsafe environment and left the teen more vulnerable in a crowded concert setting.
Legal representatives also confirmed that the man accused in the case, Roman Basso of Frankfort, Illinois, is facing criminal charges including four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault involving bodily harm. The criminal case is moving through the court system, while the family prepares to pursue a separate civil lawsuit.
The upcoming lawsuit is expected to focus on alleged failures in venue security, crowd control, and overall safety protocols. Attorneys claim that better enforcement of rules, stronger monitoring, and increased security presence could have helped prevent the incident or allowed for faster intervention.
The case has sparked broader concerns about safety at major concerts, especially for minors attending events where alcohol is present and supervision may be inconsistent. It has also renewed discussion about the responsibility of venues to protect attendees in high-capacity environments.
