NOLAN WELLS OFFICIAL STATE AUTOPSY IS COMPLETE & HEADED TO GRAND JURY

The state autopsy for Nolan Wells has been completed and sent to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, but the findings have not been released publicly or shared with his family as investigators continue working to determine the circumstances of his death.

The state autopsy for 18-year-old Nolan Wells has been completed, with the findings officially turned over to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, according to a new report.

While the autopsy has been finalized, the results have not yet been released publicly. NBC News reports that Wells’ family has also not been given access to the findings at this time.

The update comes after an independent autopsy commissioned by the Wells family’s legal team concluded that both the cause and manner of Wells’ death were “undetermined.” The report also stated it could not determine whether Wells was unconscious before entering the water during the Fourth of July incident on Horn Island, Mississippi.

Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner Dr. James Gill later described the independent report’s conclusion as incomplete, explaining that it did not include toxicology results or key investigative information from law enforcement that could impact the final determination.
