On Monday afternoon, United Flight 2091 heading to Seattle was caught on cell phone video with smoke coming out of the area near the wing. Airport operations were stopped immediately, leaving planes that were arriving circling overhead.
Some passengers were made aware of the delay, but were given very vague information which made it alarming for some passengers. A spokesperson from United says the smoking plane was towed to the back gate and passengers were allowe to depart.
A lot of the arrivals were on time and ahead-of-schedule but not all landings went smoothly. TSA did predict this beforehand as the agency screened nearly 3 million passengers nationwide on Friday. Bad weather played a major part across the country making overcrowded air travel more complicated.
